Free Will to Choose (Con’t From Words Have Power Part 1)

This is the continuation to the “Words have power” post. We surrendered to the Holy Spirit in preparing this word of the day 🙂 God gives us free will to choose. He made all of us different. So we express things differently. Some of us like to argue, find fault about this or that, sing the woe is me song, ego issues, pride issues, bitterness and unforgiveness in our hearts, selfishness, the key is to adapt and love anyway until we choose Jesus.

The Word of God tells us in Matthew 7:1-5–Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. Which brings us back to adapting to the differences whether we like or agree and accepting our free will to choose.

Some of us, can find all kinds of distractions to keep from taking responsibility for our choices and refuse to adapt to others. Again, free will to choose. Let’s face it, we all think what we think regardless of what someone says. This would be the time to pray and give it to God. God is the only one who can validate the truth or open eyes to a thing. Sometimes, we don’t know any better, until we get tired of that same mountain and reach out to God. My BFF, likes to say “Look, I can go with the flow but if the flow is going in the wrong direction, I can’t go”. Courage, we need courage to speak up when necessary about the Gospel and share what God through his Son Jesus has done for us. When we are going through stuff, we get embarrassed or fearful of what others will think… So this is when God needs us to speak up and share that what he has done for us, he can do for them.

As Christians, we are watched all the time on the way we handle life. So until someone notices our actions are different, we choose to be doers of the word.

Many of us are comfortable with status qua; but God, through the leading of the Holy Spirit gives courage and boldness to us on what to say at the exact moment it is needed.

Hebrews 4:12 say “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Jesus is love and light. There is no darkness in him. Got fruit? 😀 We need to choose Jesus to have the fruits of the spirit and the Holy Spirit within us–this brings to mind, the scripture from Hosea 4: 6 –My people perish from a lack of knowledge. We must know God and what His word says for ourselves. We must be able to speak to situations in love and as children of God, learn to adapt to others, who may or may not agree with us and vice versa. How he or she expresses themselves is their free will to choose. We all have a story…once upon a time, we were the same way, until someone sowed words of love and showed us Jesus 🙂 Sometimes, we are not ready to change. The Book of Job is a good read to get a better perspective on loss and questioning God.

Living in the 21st century, with technology rapidly growing and differing ways to communicate, we must pray for ways to reach out to those living with fear, anger or guilt, not to mention those who are just plain lost and ready to believe the lies of the enemy because they think this is what they deserve; those who stay in a relationship because they are afraid to be alone; those with deep anger because their spouse left; or they lost their job. We have to educate our children, who are our future leaders, about character and morals, integrity and respect. As Christians, it must start with us. There are hurt folks all around us that we never see because of our own stuff. When we can love as Jesus does, we can reach out and show all of those someones who don’t know John 3:16–For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And let them know that God loves them. Although times have changed, God and his Word remain the same. In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Everyday when we know the Word of God for ourselves renews our minds, that change our thoughts that change our actions. As children of God, with the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance) and guided by the Holy Spirit, we have opportunities to show Jesus to those around us, by the way, we respond to challenges–-and distractions– God gets the glory.

Choose to sow kindness to those around us–-and trust that Gods will be done.

We are the light of the world and they will know us by our fruit. Its about being a witness for Jesus. Praise God! He is awesome in every way and worthy to be praised. 😀 Keep speaking the word and keep moving forward. 🙂

As always, we welcome your comments 🙂

Mark 12:29 -31 And Jesus answered him, (Moses) the first of all commandments is, Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God is one Lord: and thou shall love The Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandant. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

John 1-1:14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believe to in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quicken; the flesh profit nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

John 7:17 :18 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. 18 – He that speaketh of himself seek etch his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

John 8:23:24 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

John 8:31-34 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

Acts 2:38-39 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as The Lord our God shall call.

Romans 8:16-18 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Romans 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Galatians 6:6-9 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Ephesians 2:7-10 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 6:11-18 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of The Lord, and from the glory of his power.

James 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

1 Peter 3:15-17 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

1 John 2:15:17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof; but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
